What you actually got from the builder

It resists stains reasonably well, which is the good news. How to clean it without ruining it
Polyester mats when it is over-wet and dried slowly. So we use less water, a faster extraction pass, and we ask you to open windows or run the AC afterward. Dry times on new Dublin carpet are usually at the low end of 4 to 8 hours.
The warranty trap
Read the warranty paperwork the builder left you. Most require professional hot water extraction every 12 to 24 months and want receipts if you ever file a claim. Skipping it is the most common reason carpet claims get denied. Our receipt has the date, address and method on it. Keep it with the house documents.
Stain protectant, year one
Factory stain treatment on builder-grade carpet wears off faster than the sales brochure suggests. A protectant application after your first professional clean, $30 per room, makes spills blot out instead of setting. It is the best money you can spend on new carpet.
