Why the smell comes back after cleaning

The most common call we get: "another company cleaned it, it smelled fine for a week, now it is worse." That is exactly what surface-only cleaning does. The hot water that cleaned the fibers also rehydrated the untreated crystals in the pad. Same thing happens on humid days and when the heater kicks on in winter.

What enzyme treatment actually does

1. We find every affected spot, including ones you cannot see, since urine spreads wider in the pad than the stain on top suggests.
2. Enzyme solution is applied heavily enough to soak down to the pad, matching the path the urine took.
3. The enzymes need dwell time to digest the urine crystals. This is biology, not detergent, which is why quick sprays from the store do not work.
4. Everything gets extracted with hot water, pulling out the broken-down residue.

When carpet is beyond saving

We will tell you honestly at the door. If a dog used the same corner daily for a year, urine has likely reached the subfloor. At that point replacement of that carpet section and pad, plus sealing the subfloor, is the real fix. One or two accidents per spot, even old ones, are very treatable.

What to do the moment an accident happens

• Blot with dry towels and stand on them. Get out as much liquid as you can.
• Do not use a steam mop or iron on it. Heat sets the protein.
• Skip the grocery store foam. Many leave residue that makes professional treatment harder.
• Plain cool water and more blotting is the safest DIY move until a proper treatment.
